WORKSHOP: TECHNIQUES OF GUERILLA DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING Lead by Cameron Esler, editor/ camera on
Between Midnight and the Rooster's Crow.
SCREENING: BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND THE ROOSTER'S CROW Dir. Nadja Drost, 2005. 66mins.

"Between Midnight and the Rooster's Crow is a revealing case study of the troubling connections between multinational corporations, insatiable Western consumption patterns, and the resultant devastation wrought on the social, economic, and environmental conditions of foreign countries and populations." (http://www.frif.com/new2005/bet.html)

2. WORKSHOP: SCRIPT READING, LEAD BY JULIA CHAN.
Sunday November 20th @7pm. **RSVP**

Ever wondered why you never get funding? Want to hear what the pros look for? Is screenwriting your dream but you want to find a way to actually make some cash? Then you won't want to miss this workshop. Julia is a professional Script Reader and fromer Resident at the Canadian Film Centre for Screenwriting. She's also worked for places like the HAROLD GREENBERG FUND.

3. I'd like to introduce Shawn Whitney as our new Screenings Co-ordinator. Shawn will be taking over screening co-ordination after the November 6th screening. He brings a lot of experience and great ideas that will help make the Collective even better! If you have any ideas for screenings, you want to screen your own film, or you know about an indie screening and want to give them extra publicity, contact Shawn.

4. New Screening Venue

Our new home for SCREENINGS is a 4000sq ft warehouse space in the west end of Toronto. It's equipped with a projector, a huge screen and surround sound. The decor is amazing and there's super comfortable seating. It's really the most perfect
space for screenings, I couldn't have found better! Thanks to Shawn and Jose!

5. Discussion Group/ Online Forum:
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/collectivenews/

The discussion group/ online forum is a way of getting up to the minute information about Collective events (wonder why you haven't heard from me in a month?). It is also a way of getting some production help, or finding that perfect prop or location. Maybe getting questions answered about AVID.
